The role
An estimator is responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, interpreting drawings, preparing quotations, and calculating costs related to materials, labour, and production. They must liaise with clients and suppliers, maintain accurate records, and support the sales process with timely follow-ups. The role involves close collaboration with production teams to ensure estimates are practical, alongside identifying project risks and contributing to process improvements. Candidates should have industry experience in relevant manufacturing sectors, strong CAD skills, and excellent numeracy and organisational abilities. Proficiency in technical drawings, cost analysis, and IT tools such as Microsoft Excel is essential for success in this role.
