The role
A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing specialised mechanical tooling for inline inspection, cleaning, and rehabilitation of buried piping systems within the nuclear industry. The role involves integrating custom and commercial off-the-shelf equipment into unified solutions, generating CAD models and drawings, and applying mechanical engineering fundamentals to project design. They may lead or support technical teams, prepare comprehensive design packages, and perform equipment sizing and selection. The position requires interfacing with construction, procurement, and other design disciplines from conception to implementation, including troubleshooting support during build phases. Candidates must possess a relevant engineering degree, extensive design experience, and knowledge of CAD software, with a focus on systems used in nuclear power plants. Flexibility to travel to client sites and the ability to obtain security clearance are essential.
