The role
Conduct policy and legislative research under direction of the Council Office to support governance initiatives.
Draft legal research memos and policy papers; assist with drafting and proofreading proposed legislation.
Prepare analysis summaries of legislation and advise Council Members on legal principles and ethical considerations.
Prepare consent agendas and related documentation; assist with Council Committee agendas and reports.
Attend Council and Committee meetings as needed; interpret policies, rules, and regulations; assist with public records requests.
Requires JD and two years of legal experience; Tennessee bar admission or eligibility; valid driver license may be required.
