The role
The Senior Legal Counsel provides expert legal advice on marketing, loyalty and customer propositions, supporting campaigns, pricing, promotions and personalisation. They manage legal and reputational risk across projects, and advise on regulatory issues including ASA matters. The role involves intellectual property management, disputes, enforcement, and safeguarding the Tesco brand while enabling commercial growth. Building strong relationships with internal teams, the counsel offers strategic guidance on campaign legalities and consumer protection laws. They draft and negotiate commercial and IP contracts, supervise legal activities, and support legal transformation initiatives. The position requires a qualified lawyer with substantial marketing and consumer law experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a high-volume workload.
