The role
A Clinical Nurse Specialist (Stoma Care) provides expert clinical support, education, and advice to patients using home delivery services for stoma products. The role involves assessing patient needs in their homes or care settings, recommending suitable products, and conducting Appliance Use Reviews to ensure safe and effective use. The nurse acts as an ambassador by promoting the service to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, whilst maintaining accurate patient records and safeguarding confidentiality. Responsibilities include supporting care homes and healthcare providers through education, managing caseloads, and representing the service at industry events. Continuous professional development and contributing to service improvement are essential to this patient-focused role. The position requires autonomous working, travel, and the ability to work to professional standards.
