The role
A Mechanical Engineer in Edinburgh is responsible for developing mechanical services designs aligning with project objectives. They work independently or as part of a team, reporting to senior staff and communicating directly with clients and design team members. The role includes preparing calculations, comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and specifications related to M&E building installations. Candidates will manage their workload and support technicians to meet project deadlines, while developing concept and preliminary engineering solutions. Knowledge of industry design software such as NBS, IES, Bentley Hevacomp, AutoCAD, and Revit is essential. The position requires a relevant degree or working towards CIBSE membership, with at least five years of related experience, a valid UK driving licence, and willingness to travel within the UK.
