The role
Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. The position involves using frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex machine learning tasks, including model training, inference systems, and LLM applications. The role requires reviewing model-generated implementations, identifying bugs, performance issues, and failure modes. Candidates should evaluate outputs from multiple frontier models and assess their strengths and weaknesses, applying professional engineering judgement to realistic ML scenarios. The role requires experience in building production ML systems, deploying models, and evaluating model implementations, with proficiency in AI coding agents like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, or Gemini CLI.
