The role
An Environmental Engineer is sought to join a team supporting defence projects, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and standards. The role involves developing and maintaining environmental management plans, registers, matrices, and reports in line with programme requirements. The candidate will support technical teams in integrating environmental considerations into design and development processes, influencing material selection and lifecycle decisions. Responsibilities also include managing environmental audits, reviewing engineering changes, and engaging with stakeholders and suppliers on environmental requirements. The position requires expertise in environmental legislation, standards such as UK REACH and ISO 14001, and UK MOD standards, along with practical defence sector experience. The role requires UK national status with BPSS clearance to start, with eligibility for SC clearance and strong organisational skills.
