The role
The Industrial Engineer analyses production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities. They conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity modelling to support operational planning and enhance material flow, layout, and workstation design. The role involves validating process changes, leading continuous improvement projects, and developing dashboards and KPIs for performance tracking. The engineer supports cost reduction by scrap minimisation, cycle time optimisation, and asset utilisation, while collaborating with quality to reduce defects. They lead a small engineering team, provide leadership, and coach on CI methods to embed a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities include preparing business cases, ROI calculations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
