The role
Drive innovative research in database systems, focusing on query optimization, indexing strategies, and storage engine design.
Prototype and empirically evaluate architectures that exploit SIMD, GPUs, and multicore processing for high performance.
Partner with Engineering to translate research into practical, production-ready solutions for commercial database products.
Publish influential results at top-tier conferences and establish a Database Systems research group of 2-3 researchers within 1-2 years.
Mentor junior researchers and foster a collaborative, high-impact research culture across teams.
Qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science or related field, 12+ years in large-scale software and distributed systems, strong publications, and expertise in query optimization, data structures, and hardware-aware optimization.
