The role
An estimator in construction prepares accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and documents. The role involves working with teams to ensure precise project scoping and pricing from inception to completion, including tender preparations, cost monitoring, and risk analysis. Candidates should have a degree related to construction, five or more years of estimating experience, and proficiency in estimating software such as CostX or Bluebeam. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings are essential. A good understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers is also required for success in this role.
