The role
An electrical engineer is responsible for leading electrical aspects of renewable energy and BESS projects in the UK, from feasibility to design development and delivery. They review technical specifications, manage grid connection applications, and develop high-level electrical designs including protection and earthing. The role involves identifying project risks and opportunities, as well as managing consultants, OEMs, and EPCs to ensure technical and commercial alignment. Candidates should hold a degree in electrical engineering, possess experience in UK power infrastructure, and have strong grid connection expertise. They are expected to review technical designs confidently, demonstrate commercial awareness, and participate actively in project development within a dynamic team environment.
