The role
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, repairing and overhauling pumping equipment used in dewatering operations. The role involves working both in a depot or workshop environment and at customer or project sites, ensuring equipment safety, reliability and operational status. Candidates should have practical skills in fault finding, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The role requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and competence with relevant tools and diagnostics. Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards is essential, along with effective communication and documentation skills. The position offers a mix of field and workshop work, with occasional overtime to support operational needs.
