The role
A Desktop Support Technician provides on-site and remote technical support for NHS end users in Portsmouth, managing support tickets, configuring and maintaining desktop computers, and resolving hardware and software issues. They are responsible for ensuring timely resolution within service level agreements, maintaining communication with users, and performing preventative maintenance tasks. The role requires experience in managing Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange, with knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems. Candidates with Microsoft certifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or Microsoft 365/Azure Foundations are preferred. The position involves travel to NHS sites and working in a rotation to support end users across multiple locations. Good communication skills and the ability to manage changing priorities are essential.
