The role
A Cloud Engineer at SSE contributes to cloud service design and delivery, focusing on infrastructure enhancements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives. They work closely with teams of strategists, architects, and subject matter experts to develop scalable, resilient cloud solutions using industry-standard patterns. The role involves managing demand planning and ensuring adherence to security and lifecycle best practices, supporting stakeholders with cloud-native architectures. Candidates should understand Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure, possess strong analytical skills, and have experience with Infrastructure-as-Code or CI/CD tools. Familiarity with operating systems and programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java is advantageous. The position offers flexible working options with locations in Reading or Havant, and the candidate will split their working week between these sites.
