The role
The Junior Journalist Apprenticeship offers individuals the opportunity to develop their journalistic skills within a renowned public service broadcaster based in Southampton. It involves working closely with news teams to create content, sourcing contributors, and editing multimedia materials, including video and social media content. Apprentices will study for an industry-standard Level 5 qualification and the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, assessed through exams and coursework. The scheme is designed for motivated and creative individuals passionate about current affairs and storytelling, with a focus on transferable potential rather than formal qualifications. Eligibility criteria include age, residence, and English and Maths GCSE requirements, with support for candidates who need to achieve Functional Skills.
