Senior Software Engineer Backend – Cardiff

The role involves developing and maintaining backend applications using Java, focusing on integration and system support for physical access management. Candidates will design, troubleshoot, and optimise backend services, including device integrations over network protocols and cloud services. Strong experience in Java, relational databases, and API building is essential, alongside knowledge of industry best practices and testing. Familiarity with network communications such as MQTT, Bluetooth, NFC, and WebSocket is desirable, as is experience with secure software development. The position requires self-reliance, adaptability, and strong communication skills within a multinational team environment. The hybrid work arrangement offers two remote days per week, based in Cardiff.
