Broadcast Journalist

A broadcast journalist based in Birmingham will be responsible for creating and delivering compelling news bulletins across multiple radio brands including Heart, Smooth, and Capital Radio, as well as contributing to national stations like LBC and Classic FM. They will respond promptly to breaking stories, produce original and exclusive content, and ensure all reports meet OFCOM regulations. The role requires excellent on-air presence, strong writing skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. They will establish relationships with regional contacts and contribute to setting the on-air news agenda daily. Flexibility is essential to cover various shifts including news gathering and reporting, often at short notice. The candidate should have a proven track record in producing multiple news bulletins, demonstrating creative storytelling and technical proficiency.
