A Db2 DBA supports the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise databases in mainframe (z/OS) environments. They are responsible for ensuring data integrity, performance, and proper usage through monitoring, auditing, and optimisation of Db2 databases. It requires providing technical leadership, monitoring database resources, and implementing structural changes to enhance performance and scalability. The DBA supports DBMS tools, develops upgrade testing plans, and evaluates new technologies, working independently and providing on-call support for complex issues.
