Associate Mechanical Engineer (6-month project)

This six-month term position involves supporting engineering projects by designing and developing equipment, testing materials, preparing specifications and procedures, overseeing fabrication, and performing inspections and installations. You will work with researchers and engineers to design, fabricate, and deploy instrumentation for fusion experiments and related projects. Core tasks include designing equipment, testing materials, and preparing technical procedures and specifications; overseeing fabrication; and ensuring successful installation and operation of systems on experimental devices. Required collaboration across diverse teams and effective communication. Qualifications include a BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, <2 years' mechanical design experience, and familiarity with basic mechanical design and analysis; experience with ANSYS, COMSOL, Python, SolidWorks, and CREO is preferred.
