Editor, Dial Delights - Hybrid

Seeking a Romance-focused Editor to identify trends in romance and romantic comedy, recruit authors, evaluate proposals, and build the commercial, cultural, and financial cases for acquisitions. You will develop and finalize manuscripts through developmental and line editing, craft sales- and consumer-facing copy, and prepare title information sheets and reading guides. You will negotiate and manage relationships with agents, and cultivate partnerships with new authors. You will collaborate with cover, publicity, marketing, production, and other departments to position titles for target readerships, and coordinate with production on copyedits and schedules. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and a collaborative spirit. A minimum of five years of editorial experience is expected, with a keen interest in romance and related subgenres, and the ability to thrive in a hybrid in-office role in New York.
