Principal / Lead Networks Systems Engineer

The role involves leading the design, configuration, and support of secure IP networks and virtual environments for naval platforms, including working on site with network test and support equipment. The engineer will manage network architecture and integration, supporting all development lifecycle phases from concept to deployment, and providing verification, validation, and fault resolution. Responsibilities include documenting system specifications, supporting system testing, and liaising with customers to meet their requirements while maintaining configurations and obsolescence management. Candidates should possess significant experience with enterprise-grade network device configuration, system design, and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, plus Cisco systems competence. Desirable skills include experience with virtual environment backup software, VPNs, VLANs, and network management tools. Security clearance is required due to sensitive nature of work, requiring UK residency and a UK passport.
