The SQL Database Administrator manages both Azure and on-premises Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and high availability. They support databases across various environments, including production, UAT, and development, providing third-line support and incident resolution. The role involves performing scheduled releases, patches, upgrades, and performance tuning, alongside monitoring database health and troubleshooting issues. Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge are also key responsibilities, requiring technical skills in SQL Server, MySQL, Azure, and Power BI. Candidates should possess relevant certifications, such as Azure Database Administrator, and have experience with ITIL and PowerShell scripting. The position is full-time and onsite in Manchester, with an active SC clearance preferred.
