A SQL Database Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and securing Microsoft SQL Server environments. The role involves supporting production databases, troubleshooting complex issues, and optimising database performance. The candidate should have strong technical skills including backup, recovery, high availability, and security management. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability and implement disaster recovery strategies. The position requires experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, scripting, and automation, with a preference for Azure experience. It demands excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to database management.
