A Cloud Engineering Specialist in Toronto works closely with platform teams to design, build, and automate cloud policies using Policy-as-Code frameworks such as Open Policy Agent, Azure Policy, and GCP Constraints. They manage cloud operations and optimise platform services through infrastructure automation with tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise. Responsibilities include supporting development teams, conducting change management, and participating in deployment and incident response activities, often on a rota basis. The role demands strong communication skills, technical expertise in cloud platforms, and excellent documentation practices to maintain secure, high-availability environments. Candidates should have extensive experience in cloud environment management, automation, and policy enforcement, preferably with a background in software engineering or related fields.
