The role
A Project Accountant in Edinburgh manages project accounts, oversees cost control, analyses budgets and forecasts, processes invoices, supports forecasting and financial modelling, prepares payment applications, and ensures compliance with internal controls. The role requires strong analytical skills, understanding of financial statements, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work on-site at Edinburgh Gateway Depot for at least 3-4 days weekly. Candidates should have experience in finance or cost analysis, with part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience. Knowledge of Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and SAP is preferred, along with a background in contract management or commercial finance. The contract is initially for 3-6 months, with potential extension, and involves working within the Rolling Stock Customer Services team.
