The role
The Construction Estimator reports to leadership and plays a crucial role in preconstruction and bid strategy, preparing estimates from initial concepts to GMP and hard-bid stages. They collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to develop detailed construction cost estimates across multiple trades. The role involves performing quantity takeoffs, analysing drawings, developing budgets and bids, and researching current pricing trends. The estimator also supports project decision-making, value-engineering, and maintains comprehensive documentation. Collaboration with various teams and managing multiple bids within deadlines are key responsibilities, requiring technical skills and construction industry knowledge.
