The role
The role involves providing 24/7 production support for DB2 databases and delivering solutions to application teams. It requires managing logical and physical partitioning, performing data refreshes, and participating in upgrades and disaster recovery exercises. Responsibilities include handling database restoration, backups, and recovery in various environments, as well as creating and managing DB2 objects and configuring HADR. The candidate must have extensive experience with DB2 on open systems and mainframes, and be proficient with monitoring tools and replication. Strong Unix/Linux skills are essential, with mainframe expertise being desirable but not primary. A professional approach to incident and change management is required in this dynamic environment.
