The role
An Estimator is responsible for assessing project costs and resources, preparing tender submissions, and supporting bid strategies to maximise profit and reduce risks. They build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth project handovers and effective communication. The role involves supporting value engineering initiatives, enhancing estimating processes, and mentoring junior team members within a dynamic environment that requires excellent organisational skills. Candidates should have a background in civil engineering, construction, or commercial sectors with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential, along with estimating experience especially in Rail, Highways, Water, or Energy sectors.
