The role
A Community Chef Educator is responsible for delivering culinary initiatives and community-based programmes using surplus food to create nutritious meals in Birkenhead. They must develop and support social impact projects, engage with community members, and work with stakeholders across sectors to maximise social benefits. The role involves creating inclusive, educational cooking sessions and ensuring health and safety policies are followed. Candidates need a strong culinary background, NVQ level 2 in Catering or similar, and food hygiene certification. Experience in community settings and delivering training programmes, especially with vulnerable groups, is highly advantageous. The position requires leadership skills, adaptability, and a commitment to positive social change, with responsibilities spanning programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and team motivation.
