The role
Provide objective and accurate interpretation and translation for patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) across phone, video, and on-site encounters.
Act as a cultural and linguistic resource to patients and healthcare staff, ensuring messages are conveyed faithfully within the clinical context.
Translate written medical documents and educational materials while preserving meaning, structure, and intended impact.
Consult with medical teams to promote effective communication strategies for LEP patients and educate staff on cultural awareness and best practices.
Assist patients in accessing internal and external resources and collaborate with departments to support equitable care.
Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to professional ethics, and engage in ongoing professional development.
