The role
The role involves managing and evolving the organisation's database estate across cloud and on-premises environments, supporting critical applications and data platforms. The candidate will handle database administration, performance optimisation, and data modelling activities, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability of systems. Responsibilities include managing upgrades, migrations, backups, and high-availability solutions, collaborating with technical teams to optimise data solutions. Experience with database design, performance tuning, and disaster recovery is essential, alongside scripting skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting. The position requires excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills and familiarity with cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps practices.
