The role
A Design Manager supports the development and delivery of construction projects by managing design processes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with statutory, contractual, and project requirements. They leverage technical skills and problem-solving abilities to review and verify design information, mitigate risks, and drive innovation. The role involves managing design risk, change control, and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to completion. Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities are essential, alongside a collaborative and proactive approach. A relevant construction or engineering qualification and experience on large projects within regulated sectors are preferred.
