The role
Support workers assist children with complex physical and communication needs in their homes, performing daily living tasks such as personal care, feeding, bathing, and toileting. They help with play, learning, therapy exercises, and accessing activities to support development and independence. Candidates need to demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and commitment to personalised, respectful care. They receive training from specialists and work flexibly across a rota, which may include evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts. A full manual driver’s licence and experience in complex care are required, with a preference for those familiar with home-based support. The role involves personal care and sensitive situations, with a focus on safeguarding and respecting client choices.
