A major UK government-backed scientific organisation is initiating a digital and engineering infrastructure modernisation, requiring a knowledgeable Lead DevOps Engineer to oversee platform development and provide technical direction. The role involves leading DevOps practices across secure AWS and on-premise environments, establishing IaC and CI/CD standards, mentoring engineers, and enhancing infrastructure reliability, observability, and delivery. Technical skills include AWS, Terraform, CI/CD tools, Linux, containers, networking, and secure engineering methods. The position requires a minimum of BPSS clearance, with SC-eligibility preferred, and involves a 6-month rolling contract outside IR35 with possibilities of extension.
