De functie
Own the mechanical design of diagnostic systems, defining requirements, troubleshooting hardware, and driving continuous improvements.
Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product designers to develop novel mechanical solutions for experimental diagnostic devices.
Design, prototype, and iterate components using CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks); perform structural and thermal analysis (ANSYS); lead design reviews.
Conduct experimental testing, collect performance data, and support root-cause analyses of mechanical failures or deviations.
Apply first-principles engineering and lessons from historical designs to deliver robust hardware for fusion research.
Engage with cross-disciplinary teams and continuously expand domain knowledge through hands-on practice and mentorship.
