Principal Full Stack Software Engineer, Investments Technology (Public Markets)

As a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer for the Public Markets Agile Squad, you will design and build real-time, high-throughput trading and market data platforms for institutional workflows. You will serve as the technical authority, guiding architecture decisions, engineering standards, and alignment with enterprise strategy. You will partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and Solution Engineers to co-create designs that balance speed, resilience, security, and quality. Your responsibilities include designing clean, evolvable architectures for low-latency, event-driven, and API-first systems that support institutional trading workflows. You will embed modern software engineering practices across the SDLC, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and responsible use of AI-assisted tooling. You will lead design reviews, produce architectural artifacts, and articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will collaborate across squads and enterprise architecture to deliver integrated solutions while avoiding local optimization. You will mentor and develop engineers through code reviews, pairing, and coaching, setting a high bar for engineering excellence. This role operates in a regulated financial services environment and requires strong cross-functional collaboration. The position supports a hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days per week in the Boston office).
