An electrical engineer specialising in data centres is responsible for leading the electrical design of multiple projects, managing design phases from pursuit to construction. They develop construction-ready drawings, coordinate between disciplines, and ensure systems meet standards for capacity, redundancy, and safety. The role involves site surveys, industry relationship building, and system studies, requiring knowledge of industry codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, and IEC. Technical skills include proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, and SKM, among others, along with experience in complex system solutions. A degree in electrical engineering and extensive relevant experience are essential, with a professional licence preferred, alongside understanding telecom and fire alarm design.
