Respiratory Therapy Extern

Under supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, the extern will assist with noninvasive respiratory care modalities and patient care. Set up and operate gas administration systems, aerosol generators, and disposable medical supplies per treatment plans. Provide emergency support, including artificial ventilation and CPR assistance, and monitor patient responses. Evaluate treatment needs, review physician orders, and monitor vital signs, pulse oximetry, and auscultation. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, evidence-based care and accurate documentation. Demonstrate adherence to safety policies, ethical standards, and professional responsibilities; prior practicum experience or coursework requirements apply.
