Staff Software Engineer, ML Systems

Own and steward multiple ML Systems within the core infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and developer productivity for distributed ML pipelines. Act as a strategic bridge between ML product teams and Core Infra, translating ML requirements into concrete infra requests and priorities. Serve as the technical escalation point for production blockers, diagnosing issues that span Python, scheduling, containerization, networking, and storage; instrument modules for monitoring and recovery. Profile and optimize end-to-end data pipelines, implementing C++ optimizations where Python is a bottleneck. Build robust CLI tools and middleware to streamline ML development and automate remote development workflows. Create shims and wrappers to integrate new Core Infra features into the ML stack, enabling faster delivery while keeping platform stability.
