A senior data scientist independently applies advanced data science techniques, including machine learning and statistical modelling, to develop complex solutions and support organisational decision-making within UKHSA. They prepare, manipulate, and analyse large datasets, ensuring data ethics and quality standards are maintained. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver analytical products like dashboards and software tools, communicating findings effectively to stakeholders. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in SQL, Python and/or R, and Git workflows, alongside strong problem-solving and organisational skills. The position requires a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with knowledge of public health data being advantageous.
