Machine Learning Engineer, Foundation Model

As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Foundation Model team, you will build and optimize foundation models for payments, merchants, and consumers. You will fine-tune and align LLMs and multimodal models using state-of-the-art techniques such as quantization, distillation, and multimodal alignment. You will drive the design and deployment of scalable AI/ML systems, perform architecture reviews, and maintain high code quality. You will partner with engineering and product leads to identify foundational investments, such as assistants and agents, that unlock new capabilities across product areas. You will mentor ML engineers, guide experimentation, and help teams navigate complex trade-offs when adopting platform capabilities. You will contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with risk, payments, and customer experience needs. You will operate in a fast-moving, data-rich environment and stay current with research to advance production ML at scale in Seattle, WA.
