Represent indigent defendants charged with felonies and/or misdemeanors in General Sessions Court, Criminal Court, and Juvenile Court with zealous advocacy.
Collaborate with investigators, social workers, and legal staff to develop and execute defense strategies.
Conduct interviews, obtain and analyze evidence, and perform legal research, including reviewing medical, psychiatric, and educational histories.
Advise and consult with other attorneys within the office; coordinate as needed with the District Attorney.
Prepare briefs, argue motions or trials, manage case dockets, and maintain clear communication with clients.
Eligibility requires Tennessee bar admission or pending Tennessee license with eligibility for supervised practice under Rule 7; may supervise investigators and clerical staff.
