Legal Counsel - Group Benefits

Provide legal guidance to the Group Protection business on ERISA, privacy, information security, and regulatory compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts including customer master services agreements, administrative services agreements for self-insured administration, NDAs, and data protection agreements; coordinate with other reviewers and stakeholders. Support proposal activities and RFP processes, ensuring risk and business objectives are balanced. Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal laws affecting Group Protection, including state insurance laws and HIPAA/privacy rules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to implement controls and processes; advise business leaders on legal and business implications of initiatives. Lead special projects and streamline processes; participate in committees and initiatives as needed.
