A Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS) specialises in creating and supporting cloud environments using AWS services like EC2, S3, and RDS. Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS infrastructure, implementing security controls, and developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation. They monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and create technical documentation to ensure reliable cloud operations. Candidates need strong AWS expertise, scripting, and automation skills, with understanding of cloud security, compliance, and optimisation strategies. Additional skills in container technologies, DevOps, hybrid cloud, and ITIL practices are desirable.
